The Defense Services Command and Staff College is a refurbishment project including the extension of an eight-storied academy building along with accommodation facilities. The building’s climate-sensitive design approach promotes energy efficiency by reducing the need for air conditioning. The floating roof above the central atrium and the double-height space on the ground floor engender an air funnel facilitating natural air circulation throughout the building. True expression in the design of the building leaves no room for value engineering. The project program includes an Auditorium, Library, Syndicate Room, Prime minister’s lounge and Central atrium for spacious gatherings, etc. The surrounding open landscape is blended into the compound through landscaping and recreational facilities.
